Sea Dog was formed in Toronto by former members of a group
called the Tote Family. Originally from
Sudbury, Jim Norris was the founding member and had formed an even earlier
group in Sudbury called Taxi, that migrated to Toronto. However, once in Toronto and after changes to
its line-up, Taxi morphed into the Tote Family, and from there to Sea Dog. Their self-titled album ‘Sea Dog’ was recorded
in early 1972 and released that summer.
